Guardian and Protector Titles
If this has already been suggested then i apologize. I did use the search feature and didn't find anything, but as we all know, the search feature isn't ideal.
Here's my situation. The other night I decided I'd like the Tyrian protector title on my Elonian Elementalist. She's been to Lion's Arch and The Temple of Ages, but not much further in prophecies. I like to start stuff from the beginning so I decided to run her to Ascalon to do the Great Wall mission and go from there.
Well, I made it as far as Diessa Lowlands when a guildie came on Alliance chat and asked if anyone wanted to do Nolani Academy with him in Hard Mode. Since I happened to be in the neighborhood by then, I jogged on over to the academy and joined him. We picked up 2 random players in town and proceeded to kill a bunch of Charr.
Despite Rurik's best suicide attempts, we finished the mission and bonus and warped into Yak's Bend tired but happy from our success. I switched back to normal mode and noticed that I still had 0/25 points towards the protector title. The map still showed that I had not completed the mission. I had points on the Guardian track, but no protector.
huh? Aww come on. I just finished the mission in hard mode. Shouldn't that count for a normal finish as well. I know the usual course of events would be to finish the missions in normal first, but in this case I did them backwards. I'd love to see an update that would credit both protector and guardian tracks if you've completed a hard mode mission that was never finished on that character before.
So, what do others think? Is this a reasonable change or do you feel that it cheats those who finished it on normal first?

I Kinda agree with you on this. It would make sence that if you beat a mission in HM that you should get credit in NM, but I think running through the missions isnt that hard. I am working on prot for tyria with my canthan born Necro and I did all the early missions in NM then in HM. It's a PITA runnig missions but not hardor too much time.
I guess i would /Sign this request

It would be nice...
But hey, going through it in both modes is profitable.

Profitable? Not the low lvl mission, Ascolon area or Noob island? maybe get 200g/hr and a bunch of 3 g drops.

If you can get it done in HM, you can definitely get it done NM.

This makes sense for the low level missions.
But when you get to Thunderhead Keep and such, I don't think this should count.

What ?
What the OP is asking for is that when he completes a mission in hard mode then if its not complete in normal mode he still gets credit for normal mode completion towards his title tracks. My logic is that since the hard mode run is at worst the same difficulty as the normal mode run, there is no reason to force him to do the normal mode mission once he has shown he can handle it in hard mode.
People who just want to do normal mode will be unaffected.
So could you please elaborate on your logic for being against this proposal.

You could just admit you completely misread the post and have no idea what your talking about... and now have no reason for going against the proposition.

Yes, completing a mission in hard mode should complete it to that level in normal mode. It makes sense. That's why it wasn't implemented.

An enemy under Detonation or SS will suffer much more damage in Hard mode.
They are different.

As others have said, if you can do it HM then why not NM. It would also incourage people to do hard mode, which is a major issue.

/signed, although I can understand why they'd want you to do it once in Hard Mode AND Normal Mode.
But once you've earned the Protector/Guardian tracks for one character, you really don't want to have to do it again for another character.
Twice over.

Why should you get credit for NOT doing the work. Many titles are incredibly easy to obtain, the only "challenge" they have is you actually have to do stuff to get them.
Sure, you can probably complete it in Normal Mode, but you didn't, so why should you get a title?
